Indigo Rose Software announces the immediate availability of Visual Patch 3.9, a tool that allows Windows software developers to deliver compact, secure binary difference update patches to their clients. The latest release includes updates to operating system support and enhanced security protocols to meet the new hardware token code signing certificate requirements.
Visual Patch works by generating a single-file, self-executing patch that developers can distribute to their clients by email, web and all other common deployment methods. The tool detects changes between the clients’ software and the current version and figures out how to apply the necessary updates. With support for full-history patches, any previous version of a software product can be updated with a single patch.
The latest release of Visual Patch adds support for Windows 11, Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022. It also incorporates hardware token code signing for both OV and EV into the build process. This is a critical new feature that ensures products comply with current Certificate Authority regulations and don’t display jarring danger warnings for end users.
“Visual Patch has been saving developers headaches for years by making patch files easy to create and get them smoothly to their clients,” says Indigo Rose Software President Colin Adams. “The security procedure update means one more problem they don’t have to solve. They can focus on creating their software patches instead.”
Visual Patch 3.9 continues to make use of its proprietary DeltaMax compression technology, allowing developers to turn even gigabyte-sized files into compact, easily deliverable patches. The point-and-click interface lets coders create targeted patches for their products by offering an intuitive project wizard and library of actions. Developers can tailor the end-user experience to their specifications by adding and rearranging wizard dialog boxes, selecting from an array of screen types, and incorporating custom graphics.
Visual Patch 3.9 sells for $395 (US$) per developer or $995 for the Five Developer Team Pack. It can be purchased through all major software development tools resellers, or directly from Indigo Rose Software at https://www.indigorose.com. A free 30-day trial download is available from the company’s website.
