ID:

The ID of the string. This is an arbitrary string but it must be unique within the language. Be careful about changing existing, pre-defined message IDs as they will probably be referenced from one or more places in your project.

Text:

The literal string that is assigned to the message ID for the current language. Note that you can insert properties, folder IDs, and file IDs by right clicking on the field and using the Insert menu item.
