MSI Factory

This dialog allows you to configure a program identifier that should be registered for the file that you are editing.

Settings

ID:

The program ID or version independent program ID. For example, "MyProgram.Document."

Description:

A description of the program ID. For example, "My Program Document."

Advertise:

If checked, the ProgID will be advertised. This means that the feature that contains the ProgID will be installed on demand when the ProgID is used on the user's system. In this case the entries for this ProgID will be made in the installer database's ProgId table. If unchecked, the ProgID will be registered using Registry entries. In this case the installer database's Registry table will be used. In general, it is recommended that you do not advertise ProgIDs unless you have specific reason to do so.

Icon

Icon path:

If the Advertise option is checked, the local path and filename of the icon that should be associated with this class. The icon will be included in the installation in the Icon table. If the Advertise option is not checked, this should be the file identifier of a file in your project that contains the icon.

Icon index:

The index of the icon to use from the file specified in the Icon field above.
