Copying Actions as Displayed

Sometimes it's helpful to show another user what an action list looks like. The Copy as Displayed feature lets you copy actions to the Windows clipboard as ASCII text, in the same syntax used in the action list.

This can be handy when posting examples to our forums. Note, however, that actions copied as text in this way can't be copied back into AutoPlay Media Studio; for that, you need to copy the actions in XML format by performing a regular copy and paste.

(more info)

To copy the action syntax from the action list into the clipboard as plain ASCII text:

  1. Select the action (or actions) that you want to copy.

  2. Press the Advanced options button ( ) at the bottom of the Actions tab, and select Copy as Displayed from the advanced options menu. (Or... You can also use the Shift+Ctrl+C hotkey, or right-click on the actions and select Copy as Displayed from the context menu.)

TIP

If you don't have any actions selected, all of the actions (i.e. the whole action list) will be copied into the clipboard as plain ASCII text.
