Invitation to Pre-Release of SetMask DLL

I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone here who would like to try out the pre-release of the SetMask DLL. Those interested should visit my new support forums. To gain access to the Beta/Pre-Release forum's you must register as a user.

As an added bonus, there is a companion application to the SetMask DLL that will take a animated gif, and create a AMS5 application for you that will display the gif as a animated page using the SetMask DLL. All the code is generated for you, simply export, and run.

Thanks to any who decide to participate.

INCREDIBLE!!! This is the coolest application window I've ever seen *of any type*, let alone built in AutoPlay Media Studio... What an add-on!! Simply incredible Worm.

Just wait until I get into the next phase of the AutoPlay Media Studio stuff in a couple weeks. I am going to promote the heck out of your add-on Worm, I guarantee you this one is going to be big! :yes

I signed up over at your forums Worm and posted a question.

This is good news and I look forward to more of your offerings!

Yip. So is it masking color or gif alpha? See attached for the incredible shivering gelatinous mask and its transparent cousin from Missouri. Boogity boogity.

The masks are actually BMP files. The transparent color is the color in the upper left corner of the mask. At this time, there is no tolerance built in.

You can use the AniGif2AMS app to break the gif into frames that are saved out as BMP files. The mask doesn't depend on the alpha channels. Matter of fact, the GIF control I used doesn't like some of the gifs that have are "clear" backgrounds. It works much nicer with a colored background gif.

Thanks Corey, here's a go at using your gif

Hint: Don't close the demo box, it'll simply pop back up. Use Alt-F4 to close out. I'm trying to come up with a better way to show the demo, but so far, no good.

This is an uncompiled sample. I strongly encourage anyone who views it to visit my forum and download the installation for the SetMask DLL to reap the full benefits, such as intellisense and easier project creation.

Here's my first SetMask.dll project that also uses a Flash object.

Ah, can we say sixties, free love, and all that? (view file, you'll get it)

Note: I did not setup a 'onDrag' or a close button for this file. Please just use ALT+F4 to close such!

                        That's cool Intrigued!

Here's another sample that masks the Video Object to round the corners. I also used the DLL to mask the video on start, to emulate a transition. The transition isn't very smooth, I didn't take a lot of time creating the masks.

Nice Intrigued. It has a really warm, organic kind of feel. Perfect for kids or an eCard! :yes You don't have to setup an onDrag event for a single action BTW, just put any fscommand at all on a transparent button, even an empty one, and then set AMS to exit on fscommand...

Wow, nice one Worm, the holy grail, "dynamic rounded corners on video". Beautiful!

A little trick I've learned is to set the background object, be it a image or flash as enabled = false, and then the page is draggable.

Ah ha! Thanks guys for the tips!

Yes, I am definitely buying the SetMask.dll when you go "gold' with it Worm.

Now, I need to spin over and download the other offering you have just put out!

I am hazzarding a guess... but, I bet I will want that one as well.

                              :yes's all around!
