Flash Z:index in AMS (one solution)

Here's a teaser (sorry, in a rush tonight) that shows that you 'can' have objects atop a Flash object when you use AMS' Web Object. I don't think you all realize the power of Internet Explorer coupled with the Web Object in AMS - obviously they go hand in hand. I will post more details later, promise. This should open up many new doors. AMS uses Z:index, but so does IE so the opportunities here are endless....

I guarantee you that statement is correct. Guilty as charged. I know you're right, there's sooooo much more that can be done. We've only scratched the surface. I can hardly wait to see what develops from this train of thought on your end Ron. Very exciting.

Now there's a man who knows how to create pre-buzz. I'm hanging on the edge. The demo is truly awesome, a real "Eureka!!!" moment.

    Ron & Intrigued,
Those are both cool examples. I hope you are able to give us a little insight on how they are accomplished.

    Rain

Did you make the "rain" in flash? Would you sell a copy of that? It would be perfect for an app I am working on...

    Thanks,

OK guys, the wait is over. Here's the project file. It's really no big secret, just using some <style> tags. You could not fathom what can be accomplished here. Just take a look at the html code and it will all be self explanitory. With AMS using the IE ActiveX, I truly feel this "triples" the power of AMS. For example -

    This is an excellent read

Using CSS, you can change your entire website/web object into Black & White tones with one line or a button click (not that you'd want to do that). Awesome power. Build slideshows, animate images/text, change items with timers.....Since it's IE proprietary, the web object could very well be the 'object' of choice for most projects

Any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

I agree. In fact I just built a nifty in-house utility for us last week using a web object and CSS. All our new sites are going to be CSS also, it's officially "time". Pretty much everyone is CSS equipped nowadays and the power is awesome. Also easy to learn and use so it's super accessible. CSS is great stuff, thanks for sharing your discovery Ron.

Ahhh, I remember taking that photo now, it's from The Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton inside the "Desert" pyramid. Muttart is cool, it's 4 glass pyramids 80 feet tall, which are each well stocked greenhouses from a different climate, i.e. Desert, Tropical, Temperate, and "Feature" of the month... Very cool place, only costs about $3 to get in for the day and there's little birds flying all around, etc. Great for kids.
