That is absolutley crazy!!
Geez... I wonder if I could do that in my circa-1966 mahogony and teak laminated skateboard (that actually looks like a mini-surfboard!).
And, yes, it was MY VERY OWN SKATEBOARD. So... neener neener...I may be 54 but I WAS cool once. Yeh.. right...![]()

Totally. I've watched more Danny Way video than Danny Way's mom. That's not even his craziest stuff, he's lands grinds and switch stuff too, i.e. 60 foot jump into a 5-0.
Anyhow suffice to say Danny Way is just one of those guys who made a decision in life and is sticking to it.![]()
This is the main video which features the whole story behind Danny Way and that whole jump setup:

Good video. Not as great as it's reputation, but very good. Danny Way has a reputation for being a very diffcult guy with an unmanageable ego but I think you need that type of ego to achieve those sorts of feats. At the end of the day, the video tells the tale. I've read where seasoned daredevils say that it's terrifying just to stand atop Danny Way's take off ramp, let alone go down it. Apparently the entire apparatus sways in the wind quite a bit. Even freestyle bikers fear that ramp.
As far as I know only a few skaters have managed that ramp. Lincoln Ueda I believe and one other in the DC Video. Personally I worry about those guys. You can only beat the odds for *so* long...
Anyhow I wonder how those guys get insurance?
