Love it or hate it, you *have* to give it up for this guy [video]

This guy is now number 1 on my list of people I'd like to have a beer with:

What kind of maniac would try an emphatic triple bounce on a wet diving board? He must be fun at parties, that's all I'm saying...

It was heartwarming to see the folks on the side of the pool immediately begin to go check on the poor fella. At least that's what I think they were about to do...

As a fan of comedic injury videos I am routinely mortified by the way bystanders respond. Society has officially disintegrated. People are cruel. That being said, nothing makes me chuckle like a good treadmill snafu. Hyuk.

Anyhow I rewatched that first video just now and I have to re-iterate to readers, if you haven't seen it, check it out. That guy's beyond beyond. He's truly a master of physics. I'm betting it ain't fun to deke that guy, and even less so to steal from him. I'd like to see him play in a tournament context.

Anyhow it's soooooooo refreshing to see someone doing something like this. It restores my faith in human evolution for a microsecond. This guy has truly earned his slot in the continuum.

Catchy tune too, not sure what she's saying but it's fun. I picked out the word, "boyfriend" twice so it's probably about Adam.

I knew it! "El Disco" strikes additionally!

But seriously that's the first guy I've ever seen who I could stomach having as a son-in-law without having to punch him every 48 hours. And I'm not really even into soccer anymore, just something about his verve. If I owned a hardware store I'd sponsor him.

    I can't get enough of that video, I've got S-O-C-C-E-R M-A-D-N-E-S-S~! Mahdmann...

OK I've managed to understand about half of what she's saying in the song. seems to be half English, half *something else*. Suffice to say I have picked out "Selassie I, Oh", "Babylon Dreads", and "I Ain't Smoking fe Joke", as well as some really super aggressive streetgang samples in the background, i.e. at the very, very start. So I doubt it's about Adam or anything anywhere near as wholesome as Adam. I'm tempted to wash my ears out with soap...

Sorry to sully your hitherto seamless divinity Adam.

You're right, Corey. Anyone putting that much time and energy into ONE THING anymore has got it goin' on. If you watch carefully, you'll see he's doing his thing over many different days.

Yeah I noticed that too. In the cold, in the warm, in the night, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the street, in an alley. No gold chains, no FIFA beanie, no expensive shoes, no cheering section. The monkey.

I'm thinking Brazil but something keeps telling me Eastern Europe.

I love that kid, makes me smile just thinking about it. There's a guy that, "Gets it". No matter what happens to that guy tomorrow, he's lived the dream... Now I can only hope someone doesn't step in an ruin in all with money. I hope he finds a niche like mine where he can obsess on his first love 24/7 and get paid enough to live but not so much that it changes the game itself. Sounds dumb, but it's just how I view things.

Case in point Michael Moore. If he spent half the time working on his production skills as doing publicity he'd be very good but as it is I like his message but find his production skills about average, if that. His publicity skills are about average also. Money ruins everything. It causes people to stop growing. As it is I have zero hope of Moore ever developing past where he is vis-a-vis production now that he is uber-rich. I hope that doesn't happen to soccer-issimo.

BTW I've since deciphered most of that song and have concluded it's probably better left undeciphered. Slightly hardcore, good thing no one can understand it.

I just noticed the cars on the street seem to be left hand drive. That cuts out Europe and Brazil, must be somewhere in North America. Blimey.

    Corey,

Actually, not really. They drive on the right in many places around the world, including most of Europe. (Italy, France, Germany, etc.)

Here's a pretty interesting link I found about it:

Seems like a Canadian guy has a severe interest in the topic.

The plot thickens. I lived in Trinidad for a few years, right hand drive. By the looks of that map it's one of only two places in South America to do that. I never knew that. Very strange, but then again the government in Trinidad has been completely disintegrated for decades, so no big surprise. I did know about all the shiny old Chevy's in Cuba and South America though so I guess it just slipped my mind. Brazil's back in the pool of choices!

In Trinidad there are no posted speed limits except in very, very special cases like secure loading docks. Ostensibly the average Trinidadian lives and dies never having seen a speed limit sign. I enquired about that a few times. The default excuse seems to be that people are illiterate so it would be pointless. But according to the Central Intelligence Agency Trinidad has a higher rate of English literacy (98.6%) than the US (97%) so that excuse is a load of pure malarky.

Anyhow, it's too big an issue to expound upon but suffice to say traffic in Trinidad is terrifying. People drive as fast as they can, in old vehicles, on tiny roads, shifting with their weak (left) hand!!! Auto accident fatalities are very common, and not a month goes by that you don't hear of someone close to the family perishing. Yet no one thinks twice about changing anything. It's surreal. That metaphor olds true for many South American countries, you take your life in your hands just going to the post office and back.

In our end of the country there are zero sidewalks, streetlights, etc. The road is lined by a large ditch which is raw jungle essentially. Anytime you need to go down the road to the shop or post office you have to walk or ride a bike in the road and just sort of do your best not to get hit. Harrowing. I literally had a huge truck pass by me so close (at about 60mph) that it struck my loose shirt edge, blasting a shirt button off with a loud clack. I found the button about 40 feet down the road. It missed my arm by about 1/8".
