    New User question

Hello group. I bought Media Studio 5 some time ago, but am just getting around to using it. Here's my question - I've recently produced a DVD for a client, complete with chapters, menus, etc.. They now want it on CD-ROM with the same type of interface, where the user inserts the CD-ROM into the drive and can choose "chapters".

Can Media Studio do this easily? I think from what I've read, it can. If so, is there a tutorial that might have an example of something just like this?

I normally don't go on forums and ask basic questions like this, but my client wants this done within a week! Any help would be great!

    Thanks!

I use two different approaches. Either split the video up into separate files and then put in buttons which load and play the appropriate file into the video object. I find this is better where the video is very large when you can get waiting times of several seconds whilst the app finds the new position.

The other way is simply to add buttons which do a video.seek to the required position (in seconds). This means sitting and watching the whole thing through and noting the time/s you want to jump to and then converting each one to seconds.

Both methods work very well and you have an infinite number of ways to design your front end. If you haven't used AMS yet, then prepare to be amazed . Look HERE for a thread that discusses this topic. There are several others that you can find by using the search facility.

p.s. Welcome to the Forum - you'll find it a very friendly place where you can get an answer to most problems you come across using AMS, from people like me who still need the help of 'friends' in here to the experts users who give very freely of their time and experience.

    Video help

THANKS! The video is very long - close to an hour. It's broken into about 35 "chapters". I think I'll try your first suggestion.

I have heard about the amazing capabilities of this program. It's been a real shame it's sat on my computer so long without being used. That's about to change! I'm hopeful other clients of mine will want interactive CDs for training purposes for their employees.

I look forward to being a member of this forum.
