Example: User Activity Tracker and Simulator

Here's a cool sample project for AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 pro. There's two components. "Tracker" is a project which records your onscreen activity to a log file. "Simulator" allows you to load that log file and view a realtime playback of the logged activity. This system simply logs which screen(s) the viewer watched and how many seconds they spent on each screen. It's just a very simple example but you could easily use this as a basis for a more robust client activity tracking and/or reporting model.

This is a pretty simple one to understand, I'll leave you guys to download the attached projects and check out the actions, it's all really simple and well commented. Here's where you can find the actions for the Tracker:

    Project > Global Functions
Project > Actions > On Startup
Project > Actions > On Shutdown
    For ALL Pages:
Page > Actions > On Show
Page > Actions > On Close
Page > Actions > On Timer
    For ALL Buttons:
    On Click

And here's where you can find the actions in the Simulator project:

    Project > Global Functions
Project > Actions > On Startup
    For ALL Pages:
Page > Actions > On Show
Page > Actions > On Timer

Most of the real actions are all in the Global Functions for both though, as usual. This can easily be adapted for remote database storage, HTML reporting, email reporting, unique client IDs, etc... Hope everyone found this entertaining/helpful. :yes

The bottom line, if you have some spare time and are seeking true insight into what your viewers are actually doing with your materials, you can't beat a small library of viewable simulation logs. And it's easy to add screen activity such as clicks, data entry, text scrolling, etc. :yes
