    short flash animaton?

I need to make a few short cartoon like / flash animations using simple shapes, etc.

Anyone use Swish? Is it easier to use than regular Flash?
If so do you like it better than making animations in Flash?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

    I use both.
Swish has built effects and you can wiggle around, but you have to use them. In flash, you may start from scratch, but can go anywhere.
Just a matter of analyzing your task and deciding which is the best app to use.

    Kool Moves Worth a Look

You might want to test drive Kool Moves. There is a cartoon animation feature that works quite well in creating swf files.

    Good luck

Hi. Flash is more flexible than Swish but it's a lot harder to learn. If you are just seeking to create some basic stuff and are not planning on getting heavily into Flash authoring, Swish is a good choice. If you wish to intergrate Flash into your future, then you are better off just rolling up your sleeves and starting with Flash from day one.

Flash is very powerful, Swish is also powerful but not to the same extent. It's rather like the difference between a screwdriver and a multi-driver, with Flash being the multi-driver. So in other words, if all you ever need to adlust is Phillips head screws then a screwdriver is fine, but if you think that you may need to adjust some Roberston or Slothead screws at some point in the future, then a multi-driver is the way to go.

I hope that isn't confusing, what I'm trying to say is that it really depends on what you need now and in the future. If you just need some basic text effects, etc. then Swish is a probably a better choice. If you need to author advanced Flash content then Flash is the only way to go.

Hope that helps. BTW there's a bunch of other options too. I'm not up on the Flsah authoring space right now but I know that companies like Sothink, etc. also offer affordable Flash authoring tools.
