Huh? Can APMS create a self contained stand alone CD?

    Hello
I'm new here and recently found out about AutoPlay Media Studio. Currently I'm using Opus Pro for my multimedia work. but this program sounds really interesting.

Can I create a self contained stand alone CD with APMS? Does the program have it's own player? Such as video. For CD's I render to MPEG-1, create my page and player and publish to a self conteined CD that auto starts and installs nothing on the end user's computer. Which means it has it's own video (slide show) player.

    Thanks
    Allen

You bet. Fully contained in a single .exe even. Nothing to install and nothing left behind.

I'm reminded of the SCTV character, Hugh Betcha. And the cool thing is that with AMS you also have this forum available, so not only can you build standalone CD-ROMs, but you can get help doing it.

    Welcome to the forums allenz!

This year I released a training CD-ROM that contains MPEG-1 video, Flash, Audio, a Built-in browser, Pop up menus, keyboard shortcut keys and more.

The point I am trying to get across is that with AutoPlay Media Studio 5.x (Deluxe version which comes with excellent and powerful plugins for me) I can quickly and professional create applications that output to:

    1. Executable's (stand alone, single file .exe's)
    2. ISO images
    3. CD-R's (yes! Built-in burner option!)
    4. Folders (pick or make a folder anywhere on your hardrive)

Note: Building to .exe just plain rocks! Nothing like creating a little or large application for yourself, friend, co-worker, etc. that makes their/your work flow easier going, for example. Your imagination really is the limit!

I am not sure what kind of support you have experienced with that other offering you spoke of... but I can tell you after approximately nine (9) months here in the I.R. (IndigoRose) forums I am 100% pleased with such support.

But, my words my word.... you can download and try AMS 5 yourself.

Bit heads up though before you choose the version of AMS 5. The 'PRO' and 'DELUXE' allow you to tap into even more power by way of plugins (official and by third party).

    Sincerely,
    Intrigued

    Thanks

Thanks. This program looks really good. Then I suppose it's nothing to put an autorun.inf on it also?

That other program was okay, but sometimes kinda quirky! It's from England and have been using it for years. Heard of this one from the Creative Cow sony Vegas forum.

I do training stuff and a lot of chaptering of video for computer playback. Pop the CD into the computer, menu comes up click on a chapter and go see that point of the video. Also it's a great way to just put a video on a CD for computer playback, auto start and play. Design my own pages for the player and controls.

Definitely either Pro or Deluxe version. So next step is to download a trial and play with it. I think I can design CD business cards also with APMS also? Had a program called Launch Card. Used Flash movies and all I did was to plug in text and graphics.

Thanks again. I'll be back. Hardest part is to design my first one! ;-)

Yes, you can add an autorun.inf or you can just have AMS generate it for you during publishing. AMS is great for making CD business cards. There's a built in template in thr trial version you can try out, all you have to do is edit the text, etc.

Allenz, when I made my first .exe with AMS 5 Pro... it was like when I made my first dollar as a kid exzillerating!

One can use the Template feature Corey spoke of... change the images to suit your application and then click the Build button and in a few seconds... you have a fully working application that looks professional.

The secret, if you want to call it that, is the support you get from I.R.

You have proof right here in the thread, the first two replies to you were from two different company representatives!

Well, allenz I think you're hooked now. Resistance is... well, see you around in the forums. (grin)

    Sincerely,
    Intrigued
