Fonts, video, .wma, and page transistions messed up after publishing

    Hello,
I am new, uninformed, and untalented. I have however managed to produce a wedding invitation for my wedding which I am happy with during preview. However, after publishing:

    1) The Monotype Corsiva fonts do not appear on some computers.

    2) The auto-start mpeg video will not play on any but the computers I used to create it.

    3) One .wma file will not cycle from the audio on all computers.

    4) The page transfers work fine from preview, but are kind of slow from the published CD also, and it doesn't seem to matter if I adjust the block size or the delay.

Any walk-through type examples for any or all of these challenges would be greatly appreciated as I should have had this completed last week!! But no!, I had to have the brilliant idea of creating a CD-ROM Interactive Invitation! (and I've been working on it for a month now)

My bide-to-be and I would be grateful if any of y'all could help.
(Ok, personally, I would be forever indebted if any of you could save my ass!)

I would be happy to send the project.

Sounds like some pretty simple changes will save your "bottom"...

    1. It sounds like the font *may* have distribution restrictions on it. AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 packs all of the fonts you use into your project, but it respects copyright law. AGFA-Monotype is a brand and they may not allow you to package up their fonts. The fix is to use another font (you're always safe with built-in fonts like Arial and Times) or change your text into images.

    2. Likely a codec issue if you were using an AVI file. Otherwise, make sure you are using an MPEG-1 file and you have output it to meet CD-ROM data rates and dimensions. THere is a lot of good info on these forums about that. Use the Search button to find it.

    3. I'm not sure what you mean here, but WMA audio files are a bit strange in the first place. I'd recommend you use OGG as your compression, and you'll be much happier.

    4. CDs are slow. No way to get around that. You must have a lot of image data on your pages for that to be really noticeable though... It will always be slower loading on CD than hard drive though. Much slower.

Let us know how it goes - and congratulations on your nuptials!

    Talking

Ted, thank you, and thank you.

    1) I ended up changing everything to Arial font.

    2) Recorded the video in MPEG 1.

    3) Reloaded the .wma before publishing.

    4) Added a disclaimer on the photo album pages that it takes about 5 seconds to load.

    Everything runs just dandy now!
(Now I just have to get about 200 duplicated and mailed)

    Again,
Thank you for your suggestions Ted. AMS is an amazing application, I wish I'd had more time to spend on the learning curve with it. I will probably be thinking of all kinds of cool stuff I could have done on the invitation for a long time

And I think now you sort of have to name your first-born "Ted". Too bad, but that's the way of the digital samurai...
