    System files

I have a question and hope someone can help. Is it possible to have Setup factory FORCE a file to be overwritten during install? I'm making an installer for my system file mod pack, and the files are all system files/protected files. (e.g. files in system32 folders, windows folders, etc.) I tried the "always overwrite" checkbox, but the files are just replaced by windows file protection after reboot. Any ideas? Thanx

To my knowledge, there is no way to circumvent Windows file protection. I'm not sure why you'd need to do that either... The only files Windows XP roll-back protects are those critical to the operation of the OS.

Ted, I think this is one of those, "Windows Tweak Pack" things.

Ya, it's a modded system files pack. There's a program called Replacer that will do them for you (replace protected files) so maybe i could have setup factory call the replace.cmd file during setup? would that be possible?

I see. No problem - Setup Factory can run programs, wait for return, call DLL functions or whatever you need. It's a very flexible software installation system, so you should be able to get it working with whatever tools and utilities you need.

NP, don't forget to give the user some sort of warning...
