Detecting if an application is running

    Hello all,

I have recently had a request to be able to have either Setup Factory or True Update detect whether or not the application to be updated/upgraded is currently running and if so, inform the user and stop.

I did not see any built in commands so I thought if anyone had any offerings of suggestions, possibly 3rd party applications, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried the action under the category "Open/Close Programs" named Close Program. You can have this action configured to ask the user to shut down the program.

Please let me know if I am off base

    Hi Adam,

    Thanks for the reply.

I am already aware of that action in SF6 but I wasn't sure if it was something that would work for us. Our application uses two individual executables within each application so I was not sure how to handle it.

I will try it out and report back my results.
