Flash player - very limited functions using AMS

    Hi Guys,
I'm coming from the world of Visual Basic, when I used the flash player object in VB - I had much more functions to use.
For example "Tplay" it let a certain movie clip to play itself in the .swf file.

How can I use the rest of the functions that the flash player has?

    Itamar.

You can use the same functions in the Flash Player as AMS5. I kinda look at it like this...if the flash movie plays corectly in the browser, it will work in AMS5. I think I have used flash with every AMS project I have produced, since the flash import was available. From the entire project with a little AMS, to AMS with a little flash icon or button, and everything tween. I have not had a problem of flash not performing all the functions when imported into AMS. I would be curious...

What functions are you looking to use?

    Hi

    Hi Eric,
If you familiar with flash outside of AMS, you know that you can make the Movie clips to do certain things.
Let's say that you have a flash file with 2 movie clips, now you want to change the frame in one of the movie clips.
    With VB your writing - flash.TGotoFrame("movieclip_name");
So you can control movie clips in the movie from outside of the flash files.

With AMS functions you are able just to PLAY the Swf and that is it.
The other function is regarding its position on the screen and etc.

The functions that are missing are in the flash player object, but AMS programmers took only few functions that they thought will be enough.

Maybe if you had seen the other functions you would understand what are we missing.

    Itamar,
What about the variable transfer to Flash? And the seek function?
With them and a little pre-planning in Flash, you could achieve what you want.
But I Am no VB programmer....
