    Missing technologies dialog

    Hi Guys,
The missing technologies dialog is great way to make sure our users will be able to enjoy our applications.

We are working with young kids and asking them to insert the CD into the drive and that's it. I don't want them to click on any buttons or install anything.

I would like to use the engine that build in AM5 to check for example if a Flash installed, if not I'll do it for them silently

Is it possible to check the missing technologies without interpreting the users?

    Itamar.

In order to distribute the flash player you have to adhere to Macromedia's license agreement which states something to the effect that you can't alter or conceal the installation.

    Can we add dependencies?

Can we add more dependencies to the very narrow list that exist?
I saw link to download more checking of missing technologies,
    But I couldn't find a way to check VB6 runtime. (msvbvm60.dll)

The dependency files are actually LUA scripts that have already been written. You can create your own at anytime.

I'll be happy to do it, and if you like it you can put it on the dependencies list in indigo website to everyone use.

I can't find the link to the dependencies web page, can you post it plz?

Take a look at the files in the AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 Professional\Plugins\Detect folder. Open them with your favorite ZIP utility and you'll see the scripy file. These are the detection scripts that are currently available in AMS.

Worm, Maybe you know if AMS projects

I would guess that the AMS projects depending on VB run time like, msvbm60.dll to run the .exe files that created by AMS.

    is it?

The AMS runtime is built using C++ so has no VB runtime dependencies.

The files are actually ZIP files. Unzip the file and you'll see the content

    Thanks Worm,

    I'll create a VB6 runtime check routine.
If you'll want you can add it to your dependencies page, for everyone use.

The SDK is publically available for download here. The AMS50 SDK includes full detail about how to create dependency checker modules.
