    Impressed!

    Hi there

I'm new to the forum and the software. I use two "other" software applications to design projects on CD Rom. No names, No pack drill! I have been working on a project for about 6 weeks that includes 10 video's and thousands of pictures as well as text information. Last week we published our first master and no way would that cd's run past the intro in any machine tested! Changed the whole intro and menu pages and Nothing.

In frustration I did a search on the net and found AMS 5.0. Tried a few things in the trail version and now 4 days later the project is nearly rebuilt in AMS. Runs beautifully! . The video capabilities impressed me most. The project fills up 2 CD's to the hilt and it was quite a new experience to build without master pages and chapters. (anyone listening?) Would greatly improve the ease of use when doing huge projects. Also had a problem with slideshows but found a solution on the forum.

I will be purchasing this great app tomorrow. It really is the most stable of any apps I have used and are using for my projects.

I received the video as DAT files and then converted and edited them in Video editing software. Huge files. Then I create Mpeg2 files of a video and then convert it to WMA/v file. File size comes down from 683megs to 150megs with a fantastic result. Just some useless information.

I have a excel spreadsheet which calculates investment figures. It is quite complex and want to simplify it and running within a project. The user inputs two fields and then gets quite a few results. Is there anyone out there who knows about these things? I am prepared to pay for the job. Due to the nature of the spreadsheet and the fact that it is a program on the web I would like interested parties to contact me via PM. Could be accused of spamming if I attach it her

Just one little problem: Could not access the help files in the trail version as the program crashes when the help link is clicked. No sweat, just making it quite difficult to work from scratch when new. Found another help file though! THe Forum

    Apologies for the large post.

    Regards
    Luke

Hi Luke. Glad to meet you. Just a note, you can also access the complete help file online anytime here:

    http://www.indigorose.com/webhelp/ams50/index.htm

That being said, we would like to help you fix your installation. Does it crash every single time you click the help link? Even after a fresh restart or re-installing? Also, do you get some sort of error message when it crashes? If so, a screencap would be a huge help if possible...

Anyhow thanks for the kind words about AMS, I can guarantee you that you'll get full value for your dollar purchasing AMS 5.0. Thanks for your support!

    Hi Corey

Yes. It crashes every time I try to access it and even after restarting, reinstalling. I installed it on another workstation, same problem. The app runs fine though. I do get some decompression warnings when installing but it refers to sample pics in the app.

    Thanks
    Luke

Yes, When you try to open the file, a Window opens that says "AUTOPLAY MEDIA STUDIO PROBLEM". Same as windows XP error message. If you click don't send, the program shuts down.

OK, next time you see that thing take a screencap of it, you can upload it to this thread as an attachment. That'll clear things up a lot and we can go from there...

You sound like someone who already knows how, but JIC here's a great article on how to take screencaps:

Perfect, thanks. One last thing. That's the general dialog, if you can click on that "click here" link also and then post a screencap of the error details, the support guys can probably tell you what's going on.

    Thanks for the effort.

Did you know that there are "master" pages? Check out the Inherit options on Page Properties.

    Hi Eric

Yeah, I saw it after the post I made. Will probably spend some time getting used to it!
