    PDF, "missing technologies" ???

I have been embedding a pdf file onto a CD. Several people have complained that when they click on the link it gives them a "missing technologies" box saying adobe 5.0 or higher could not be found.
I did not set it to check for this and the three people who have contacted me so far all have 6.01 on their pc's...

    Any ideas?

When you say you "embedded" a PDF file, do you mean in a web object?

It's possible that your PDF file is encoded to a higher version of PDF than what the user has installed, and the Acrobat Reader ActiveX is notifying them of that fact.

Without more information and/or a screenshot, it's hard to tell.

From what you described, it is a message being presented by Adobe Acrobat, not AMS50. The PDF file is encoded to a more recent version of the PDF spec than what the user has installed and Acrobat is letting them know.

You could just place the reader.exe on the CD and view your PDF via that viewer. The only problem is "Acrobat 6 does not run on Win95 or Win98 first edition, so you may want to consider also having Acrobat 5 on the cd as well and have it run if the user is running 95 or 98 first edition" And of course... don't forget the rambling unicow.dll
