    Smile Training site

    Hi Everyone

I have AMS4, Camtasia and Swish. I'n the past Ive created simple interactive presentations with Camtasia screen captures inside AMS4 projects, delivered on CD, and been very pleased with the results.

I have a rough outline of a training project that I want to develop. I'd just like to get feedback on whether its possible with the software apps I already have. Then I can upgrade to AMS 5 and figure out how to do it! ha.

I want to design product training presentations for our sales team. The presentations will be accessed at a central network location. I want the presentations to be interactive, fun and to include tests with the result calculation, tracking and reporting.

Can I do the following with AMS:

    1. I want users to go to a home page on our intranet/extranet/internet.The page allows them to log in and receive a personal greeting with a summary of thier results so far. For example, "Hi Geoff, you have completed 5 of the 10 training modules, you have a high score of 35 out of a possible maximum of 50 ................ The User can also view a ranking of the progress of other sales personnel results.
Sales Managers can also view the home page with details on who has completed the various presentations and thier results.

Can the home page be produced in AMS5?

The users proceed to the next training module/presentation they want to take.

2 The training presentations/modules are a mix of Flash and camtasia media with interactivity - I can do that part.

There will be a test after each chapter. The results need to be recorded and sent to the main page to calculate the users high score. I am not sure whether AMS5 can do the reporting part?

    3. Me, as the training dept will produce new product, system and technology modules to add to the visual learning base. I will add new modules and module chapters as and when they are completed.

Hope this make sense. This is a rough outine, I definitely open to ideas and the experience of others.

    Thanks v much
    Geoff (Toronto)

Hi. Yes, with a little knowledge and some practice you can definitely do all those things with AMS. Note though that although you can create web pages dynamically with AMS, it doesn't contain an "HTML editor" per se. Hope that helps.

    Any examples??

Do you know of any examples you can point me too?

I am confident of the screen capture movies and tests, but not sure whether I need to invest in Learning management software aswell to help with the reporting and tracking of who has taken tests and what marks they acheived, etc.

No, I'm sorry, I'm not currently aware of any sample files which achieve this functionality.
