    Is this legal?

I have a legal question for you. I have a program that is capable of editing executable files. Using this program, I have found that I could replace the default icon in the built AMS menu with one of my choosing (e.g. instead of the cd with computer icon, I could replace it with one I generally use, the debug icon).

This has the effect of making the AMS menu look more professional in my opinion, as it now displays my logo. But, am I allowed to do this? If not, that's fine. I'll use the separate icon and keep the AMS one as it's default. But I would really like to be able to do this. Thanks for your time.

P.S. the CD is only used by me. I use it onsite on people's computers, but I am the only one that uses it. I just think it would look a little better. Let me know, please. And if your answer is no, I will destroy the build I made and rebuild it without the replaced icon. Thank you.

    Re: Is this legal?

Oh, and since it's not illegal (to change the icon at least, read the link for more), if anyone is interested in the program I used, it's a VERY easy to use (and FREE) program called Resource Hacker. It's available from http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker. Good luck.

p.s., it automatically makes backups of any program you edit, too. So you don't have to worry about corrupting the original exe, even though you can recompile it. http://www.indigorose.com/ubb/images/icons/smile.gif

There's not a whole lot I can tell you. I haven't used it much myself, but I can try. What did you want to know?
