Dialog window appears indicating Software about to be installed already running...

Hi there,

I'm doing an installer for a program and I check the registry for former entries on that prog.

In case there's nothing found in the registry that indicates an earlier or current version of the software, the installer is started. Then, unfortunately, a dialog message window which should not be there would pop up, saying the programm which I try to install is already running. That occurs on Windows ME and 98.

If you choose to ignore the message, the installing will proceed.

I checked the filenames of the cd-browser and the application being installed, but they differ so there should be no conflict there.

On XP everything is okay.

I hope that's enough information. You got any idea what the problem could be?

Last year I was using the 4.0 version and no problems occured.
