DivX (MPEG4) as AVI, doesn't work ?

Hi there,

I am working with a demo version, and I am trying to embed an AVI file wich was created with the DivX codec. When I try to play it, nothing happens, although the codecs are on the machine. A "normal" AVI works fine.

Any clues ?

I don't think AMS has the capabilities of playing back DivX encoded AVI's. It's been suggested in the suggestions forum that they include that capability in v4.

Thanks, the thing is that it seems to work after I use the Build function, whereas nothing happens in the Preview function. I am still testing if the performance is acceptable, and which files I should include to ensure proper behaviour on the viewers computer.

Just make sure the propper DivX codec is installed on the system.

I sure don't have any problems on a variaty of systems/configurations

Somehow I have the feeling that the playback is not as good as if I would use the Playa player, or Windows Media Player. It looks more as if I use the Windows properties option on the file, and choose the preview option. And my machine has the appropriate codecs installed. Any clues ?

I have divx encoded avi files running just fine with the AMS native player.. I use the AngelPotion mpg4v1-702 available thru a variety of sites.. search Google..
