Thread: Open a Media Studio 4.0 object in 5.0

Hi all,

can somebody tell me what I have to do, to keep my actions in the converted version.

- I opened a project I made in 4.0!
- 5.0 startet to convert the project with about 120 errors by converting the actions.
- Now all the actions are gone.

What can I do???

Andreas,

This is the normal process due to the new engine in use by 5.0. The bad news is that your actions are gone. The good news is that your actions are typically "notated" on the pages and objects in the new version, so that you can recreate them.

I found swapping images in these conversions to be a bigger problem for me.

While the conversion of AMS40 projects to AMS50 brings over all of your layouts, graphics and assets, the new scripting engine made it impossible to automatically convert actions.

That being said, it's a straightforward process to do this yourself. All of your old actions appear as "comments" in your new project. Simply use the Add Action wizard to add v5.0 actions to your converted projects.

There is an extensive conversion guide included with the software (look on the Help menu), or simply click the following URL to read it online. There are a lot of tips and some recommendations and suggestions as well.
