    DISCUSSION

    Burning Your CD-ROM

Here are five steps that you can follow in order to burn your AutoPlay Menu Studio 3.0 menu to a CD-ROM properly:

    1. Set up your Virtual CD-ROM Folder properly: Make sure that your Virtual CD-ROM Folder mimics the root of your CD-ROM exactly.

    2. Reference all your independent files properly: Any file not automatically stored in the DATA directory should be referenced using %SrcDrv% or %SrcDir%.

    3. Build your AutoPlay Menu Studio project to your Virtual CD-ROM Folder: If you set your Virtual CD-ROM Folder to: "C:\Virtual CD" you should set your output folder to: "C:\Virtual CD".

    4. Check the contents of your Virtual CD-ROM Folder: Your Virtual CD-ROM Folder should now contain all the files and folders, including your AutoPlay Menu, that will exist on your finished CD-ROM. The contents of your Virtual CD-ROM Folder should mimic the root of your finished CD-ROM exactly. Give the files and folders one last check and you're ready to burn.

    5. Burn the Contents of your Virtual CD-ROM Folder to the ROOT of you CD-ROM: You are now ready to transfer your AutoPlay Menu to your CD-ROM. To do so you must burn the contents of your Virtual CD-ROM Folder to the root of the CD-ROM.

This point cannot be stressed enough. Do not burn the actual Virtual CD-ROM Folder; instead burn everything that exists within the Virtual CD-ROM Folder.

Remember that the Virtual CD-ROM Folder is used to mimic the root of your CD-ROM, so whenever you burn, the root of your CD-ROM should be identical to the contents of your Virtual CD-ROM Folder.

In general the following should be burnt to the root of your CD-ROM:

      E:\Autorun.exe
      E:\Autorun.apm
      E:\Autorun.inf
      E:\Data

Note: The above example assumes that E is the drive letter of the CD-ROM; this is not a constant value.
