Hide not working on startup

I hide a bunch of text and graphic objects on startup (in actions for project..settings), but they are still being displayed. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

Hi Seames,

Hiding text, etc. is usually accomplished on the individual pages. Go to Page, Properties, Action, and then open or close, choose your "hide" or "show" object from there. Of course, you have to locate the object on the page first. Simple hide the object on page open and create a mouseover or mouseclick to show.

For the startup, I don't think there is an option for hiding objects. All this starts with page one. If someone else knows how to hide objects using projects settings, then maybe we'll both learn something here.
