Re: Shortcuts for non installed applications

First, you should update to the newest version, 6.0.0.3 by going to HELP->CHECK FOR UPDATE.

What I am guessing is that these shortcuts are remnants of previous tests that were not removed. Manually delete these shortcuts and try it again. Also write the values of your two package variables out to one of the screens to make sure they are being set properly at the point where they are being installed. Then also make sure that the file that your shortcut is being created for is added to the package you want.

    Darryl,

Thanks for the clue, I think they were left over from a previous test.

    Thanks again.

    Shortcuts for non installed applications

I am building an installer that has two packages. One packages always gets installed, the other package only gets installed if the user enters the correct serial number. What I am finding is that the shortcuts for the optional components always get created, even though the applications themselves are not installed.

I am creating the shortcuts under the file Properties dialog > Shortcuts tab.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

    I am using 6.0.0.2.

    Thanks.
