Thread: SUF6.0.0.2 -- installer hangs.

Created an installer with 6.0.0.2.
When running the resulting installer on NT4 Terminal Server it "stopped responding"

The last text I saw it display was "registering fonts" and then nothing. I'm not installing any fonts, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

I've beenwaiting for 30 minutes now.. other systems install rapidly.

Any thoughts?
I tried it 3 times, each itme "registering fonts" is clearly shown, then hangs.....

Did you create a Installation log file? If so perhaps you could post its contents.

Do you have the correct permissions to be installing on the Server? Are you registering any DLL's or OCX's? Are you installing any system files?

Perhaps you could e-mail your Setup Factory project file to: mark@indigorose.com so that I can see what you are doing.

Re: permissions etc. Yes, I am an administrator. "change user /install" was also used.

What happens if you try running a blank install on the NT 4 server? Does it fail as well?

Have you tried rebuilding your installation? One of the tests that you could do is adding one file to your installation at a time and see if it fails when a certain file is installed.

As far as it displaying "Installing Fonts" even though you are not installing any, Setup Factory always runs though this step even if there are no fonts to install.

Hopefully your test will help point us in the right direction.

The "installing fonts" -- that was hopefully a clue; as a previous problem with "installing fonts" hung.. perhaps this is a hold over? No fonts being installed; but that's the last "task" it performed.
