    Problem with UNINSTALLER - SF8

I know this is the wrong forum, but the SF8 post is closed to new posts.

I receive an error message when I run the UNINSTALLER in SF8. "On Startup, Line 1: Argument 2 must be of type string." I did nothing to create the uninstaller - I just let SF8 do its thing. I cannot discover what this error message refers to. There is only one Window in the Uninstaller, and there is no tab or action on that Window that refers to Startup. For the INSTALLER portion, there is a Startup Action, but Line 1 is blank. Furthermore, the INSTALLER program generated no error messages.

Here are a few lines from the Uninstaller.Log

    [02/04/2011 13:44:15] Success Include script: _SUF70_Global_Functions.lua
[02/04/2011 13:44:15] Notice Start project event: Global Functions
[02/04/2011 13:44:15] Success Run project event: Global Functions
[02/04/2011 13:44:20] Error Script: On Startup, Line 1: Argument 2 must be of type string. (-1)
[02/04/2011 13:44:20] Error Run uninstall event: On Startup (1)
[02/04/2011 13:44:20] Success Display screen: Welcome to Uninstall

Can anyone outthere help? It would be highly appreciated.

By any chance, is this happening on a system with non-Western script, like Chinese, Japanese, Russian, etc.? If that is the case, you should try to set the language for non-Unicode programs to English, and attempt to run the uninstall again. You find this setting the Regional settings, on the Advanced tab.
