    Virtualization software - any opinions??

    Hey all,

Does anyone have any experiences using any of the Virtualization solutions? I am starting to look into them as a solution but would appreciate any input offered.

On the list to look at is:
    Molebox
    BoxedApp
    ThinApp
    Themida XBundler
(if I can figure out why I need the XBundler add-on if I have Themida..?)
    Enigma Virtual Box

Thanks to anyone with some real life feedback on these.

    Cheers,
    Dean

I've used them all -- they're all ok; but all have draw backs. IMHO not worth the $ they charge for them.

In agreement with Jassing. Have used both Molebox and Thermida. They offer a measure of protection but are expensive solutions for small time devs. Molebox offers decent in-memory unpacking, but when shelling out the $$$, keep in mind that it (as with the others) have all had their protection-schemes broken at some stage. Check the reversing forums and you'll see what I mean. It's a lot of dough to fork out when there are publicly accessible tools made easily available for breaking the protection they offer.

    //EDIT
If you just want a bit of added protection for your executable, check out some free alternatives, first.
    Suggest the following:

    - PECompact
    - Yoda's Protector
    - Yoda's Cryptor

Thanks to you both for your input. Some food for thought.

    Cheers,
