    EXE file stamp comments removal

    Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove or edit (in AMS7) the indigo rose comments stamp on the exe file produced from AMS7. Its rather anoying when trying to sell your product and your customers see your development tool first at the top of the list even before your company name etc.

Right click on your .exe file>properties>version and there you shall see it.

Cheers, any help would be great.

Assuming you are not running the trial version, this is done via the Project/Settings/Version tab.

The Project/Settings/Version tab will allow you to enter custom info but the "created with AMS" stamp/tag will still remain at the top of the version-info window.

In order to remove it, you have to use a 3rd-party tool and remove it manually. PE-Explorer is very good for doing this:

    To do it:
    1. Open your AMS exe in PE-Explorer
    2. Select View from main Menu.
    3. Click Resources tab.
    4. Expand Version folder in tree-list view, and then double-click on the version-info item.
    5. Now you edit and save the changes, as you like.

    Works a charm.

I've been trying to use XN Resource Editor to do the same thing, this is a free application as opposed to PE Explorer, but I cannot get it to work ... anyone else tested this successfully?

Yep, just downloaded and tried it. XN Resource Editor works fine!
In fact, it's almost identical to PE-Explorer ... so just follow the same directions as what I posted above.

Ok I got it working now :s Instead of modifying any fields to leave them blank in XN Resource Editor, I actually deleted them instead. This eradicates the data error I was getting.

IR have provided the means to modify the detail that their EULA allows you to change. Has there been some change that I'm unaware of?

Sure, fair point ... but the AMS-tag is just advertising. I'm all for IR plugging AMS wherever possible ... it's a great product, after all. And yes, IR deserves all the help it can get ... it's a small company. But I think that darrent just felt it looks a little unprofessional to have that tagline at the top of a commercial product you're trying to sell.

To compensate for the deletion of the AMS tagline, (which is no great sin), why not just give AMS a little plug, somewhere else in your application's install ... such as in an included info-file that you might distribute with your product?
