The Basics of String in AMS

Question: Does AMS Store and Send strings in UniCode?
This question applies to passing a string variable to Pure Basic. I cannot get a string to print when passed to Pure Basic from AMS. When I manually place a string (non-variable string e.g. "My String" instead of a passed string such as sMyString) into the Pure Basic DLL, it prints fine, but when passed from AMS it does not.

AFAIK, neither Lua nor AMS are Unicode.
