I have not done this in a long time (6+ years). What is "the program to use" to rip a Music CD to mp3's?
I am looking for a good one.
Thanks!

Hi Eric,
Depends on what operating system you are using I guess. If you are on Windows I've had good experience using iTunes. I'm pretty sure that Windows Media Player does it as well (although I've never tried).

Yea, even though I would like to have something like this someday: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...o/mediamanager I also just import all cd's into I-Tunes but make sure you change the default import settings to MP3 or else you need to convert from the apple extention over to MP3 (which is no big deal) but then you get two copies.
I have used iTunes too and had much success with it.
Another one you might like to look at is EAC (Exact Audio Copy) - that's pretty good too.

I have a copy of Easy CD-DA Extractor, and am very satisfied with the results.

Thanks everybody, I think I will use iTunes. I have it on my computer already. Thanks!!
Use RealPlayer, by far the easiest to use![]()
It's been a while since I've done this as well ... but i used to use FreeRip. It seems to me that FreeRip was really good when I was doing a bunch of CD's at once. Though looking at their website, they have a FreeRip Pro for $$ ... when I used it, it was all free.

One of the best tools for this (and it's free) is still Exact Audio Copy, along with the (also free) LAME MP3 encoder.
There's also Songbird, too, of course, if you want a good player as well.
But EAC is usually what I use when I rip CDs.

I've always used FreeRip also. I also seen they have a paid version available now. They still have the free version.
