    Looking to purchse after Trial

    Hey all,

Forgive the question, but i am against the clock. I have to find a software application to do some in house projects and then create discs. The application here seems simple to use but i was just wondering about these two questions as i am running the tutorial software and the functionality is not complete:

I have built a project using the application and it all looks exactly what i want. What i need it to do is have the one that i create, become a template so others can use in house too, and not have to rebuild the whole project. That is to say, just open the existing project i have made and then upload their own text/docs and logos into it, then save as a new project.

    can that be done?

    kind regards,
    uk

To save a project as a new template, see menu > File > Export Project > Save as type > Project Template (*.apt).

As long as the text and logo files are called the same as the ones you first started with your good to go.

I do this but using a different approach. I build a 'generic' application in which for example lists of resources such as Word documents, images, videos etc. are populated dynamically i.e. the application looks in the appropriate folder when it runs and displays a list of what is there. Selecting an item in the list either opens the document, loads the video, plays the soundfile etc.

I re-use applications many times over just by changing a text file (used to display the name of the application in various labels) and then dropping the new resources into their folders - job done - burn the master and duplicate. The corporate look is maintained and users are familiar with the way things work.

On average it takes me less than half an hour to produce a CD. My colleagues are always amazed when I give them a pre-release CD for checking in less time than it would have taken them to work out how to just burn them to a CD
