Upgrading/Patching and stuff

How is the work with automated patch building going on?
Browsing the forum I've seen the question being adressed before.

The project Im working on gets updates quite often and we don't want to distribute the full setup each time.

I think the creation of .msp-files in WiX have changed a bit since this to this.

Is any support for this on the horizon? Or extended post-build functionality to be able to custom build patches as described in the link.

Another thing to ease this would be to have something like autoincremented version numbers with each build.

Just some questions and thoughts..
