MSIF Crashing

Hey Brett & Adam

Long time since I posted something here or used SUF and my god I love the new MSIF (Love the name how appropriate!) I am installing my VB6 apps happily with it and it rocks!

Anyway I was trying to import a txt file for EULA in the dialog section and it crashed MSIF (The error was caused by Richtext Editor DLL.

I know the default file format is RTF but you also have *.* which made me think it can handle TXT files as well.

I am not sure if this has been reported. I thought I mention it.

Can you duplicate the crash? If so, can you post the exact steps to make it happen?

When you are in the dialog properties and double click on the box where the EULA is to import a file, instead of choosing an RTF select *.* and select a .TXT file and at this point the app crashes.

I am able to use a .txt following your instructions without a crash. Any chance you could make a sample txt file that crashes on your machine and attach to this thread?

It must have something to do with the contents of that text file. It doesn't crash here (but it does fill the text control with gibberish).

I've logged it for investigation. REF: 17411
