    Zip Plugin Password

Am I right in thinking that the ZIP plugin password is only relevant if I create the zip file from within SUF7.

I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that I could take a ZIP file produced by WinZip, that had been password protected, and then open using ZIP.EXTRACT in SUF7. It appears not to be the case.

    Thanks - John

I have unzipped my WinZip created ZIP files before with password protection in SUF7 and TU2 so yes it is possible.

OK. The problem is that the ZIP plugin does not support either the 128 or 256 bit encryption method; just the standard Zip 2.0 format. This is not a problem as far as I am concerned as only using the ZIP to send a file internally but do not want accidental unzipping using a manual process hence the password.

The error returned when using anything other than ZIP 2.0 is 2633 which is 'unknown compression format'. I guess the thing to point out is that the ZIP plugin help file does not mention this restriction in using the password option.
