cd will not auto play

I've looked at past postings and the lack of any dealing with this subject must mean I'm missing something pretty obvious. But if you can help me...

I made my project and burned it onto a cd. I made sure that the .exe, .inf(?) and the other one (.apm(?)) were in the root of the distribution folder. I then used Roxio to burn the Distribution folder on the cd. The result after testing it on several computers - no auto play. So I'm at a loss. I'm confident that I know what the "root" of the cd is (I checked AutoPlay help") but maybe I'm going wrong somewhere else.

As always, I would appreciate the guidance.

Doesn't hurt to check the obvious, so: is the AutoRun feature turned on for those computers? If AutoRun is disabled, nothing will happen even if your CD is perfect.

The other thing to check is that the CD was burned correctly. Open it up, are all the files there on the CD? If you double-click on the autorun.exe file, does your AutoPlay application start up?

Re: cd will not auto play

    Hello donaldgg,

When you say that you burned the distribution folder to a cd....do you mean that you burned the folder to the cd or that you burned the contents of the folder to the cd....If you burned the distribution folder to the cd, your autoplay and other needed files are probably contained in a folder on your cd and therefore won't autoplay.

When you view the contents of your cd what do you see.....

Your autorun, autorun (setup information file) and autorun.apm should be visible without having to browse the contents of a folder.....

    Hope this provides some help.....
