    autoplay application on server

Quick question guys, if i build an autoplay application, and place it on the server with 500 computers accessing it, is there a negative impact to the server? Is there anything prevening me from doing that because im using autoplay or would it be just like any other app?

    thanks

I hope that you understand that the people who help on this forum have other lives and don't spend hours a day here watching for posts like yours. And when they do help, it's because they are nice people, not because they have to.
Plus, there's probably not 1 in 500 members that have even tried to do what you are asking.
I have never tried this and haven't a clue what would be the impact. If everyone that didn't know posted like I just did, there would be 100's of no answers.
It was only 4 hours since your first post to the second. Please have some patience and manners when asking for help.

I'm with Roboblue, give it some time. As you know this is a message board adn not an IM (Instant Messaging) program.

If you need a fast response I would call or Email, or use the Submit a Ticket (check the support section of their main website) feature for I.R.

Make sure to have your serial number for your I.R. product.

By the way, I'd like to hear from you again if you do this, say using SQLite or SQL of some sort.

i apoligize for my manners earlier, i was out of line - its just i really needed an answer. as for submitting a ticket i dont think i can because im using a trial version of autoplay. My boss wants to know if autoplay is the suitable application for this project before purchasing it. It is a project that will result in about 500 users accessing the program. I have tested the program by placing it on the network and having about 10 pcs run it at the same time - it worked fine then. I guess my main concern is the program may cause a bottleneck on the server and crash it. There are no databases being accessed by the program, it is all inputed code and external script files. if anyone out there thinks there is a reason why this wont work please explain why that is so. thanks

When you "run" an application from a server drive on a workstation attached to the server, the application is loaded and run on your workstation, not the server. The application's exe file is loaded from the server file but after that the resources it uses (memory, CPU, etc) are local to the workstation. Therefore, there should not be a very big load on the server to "run" applications from the server in this way.

ok, that is what i thought, but what about if they're using terminals which are connected to the server? Then there would be no memory to allocate the program to and then what?
