Use Flash Object to display JPG, PNG, GIF, SWF

Sorry if this has been posted already but I haven't been keeping up lately.

Just discoverd that the flash player 8 can view JPG, PNG , GIF (non-animated), as well as SWF. So I went and modified the XML file for AMS and that restricts file formats in objects and you can now load Images into the flash object. This isn't earth shattering as you could do this using multiple object in AMS before. But this lets you simplify your code a bit and still have the flexibility of loading a static image or a flash movie into the same object.

I don't have version 6 but looking at the trial it looks like this would work in V6 as well.

Just as an aside to that - if you have Flash then you can import anigifs into it and save them out as swf's literally in seconds. There's only one downside and that's the fact that you can't *easily* display anything over the top of the resulting swf.
