    page jump question

I have a scenario where the user goes to a help page then when finished returns to the page they had been viewing prior to help....but without reloading the start state of that page Ie starting images, bg music that probably have been changed by the end user prior to jumping to the help page.

    Hope this makes sense.

    FYI Just loving this program.

You will have to store the settings of the first page before jumping to the second and then restore the settings when they come back. You can use actions to get things like the current position in the audio track, etc. When specific properties do you want to save and restore?

Thanks Brett I think I understand. The properties would be images loaded and narrations on say a current chapter that was current before the page jump.

I'm transferring a lot of multimedia projects to use AMS 6 instead of (insert former tool here )

I'll have to do some more reading on saving and restoring properties

What are you displaying on your help page? If it is relatively simple you may be happier displaying it in an appropriate object overtop of your existing page using show/hide actions. That way you don't have to leave and reload the page.
Yeah right. Who's the only one here who knows the illegal ninja moves from the government?

And if you do need a complex help page and don't want to code/record current status, you can always launch a secondary AMS app which contains the help pages.

Now that sounds interesting. As I'm new to AMS I"ll have to look at keeping the focus on this help screen etc. Thanks Yosik for the tip

Also could it be an apz (sp) imported into the existing running app or is an exe complete mini program the only way to go?

It would be great if I could import and run an ams doc file.

    Cheers
