Optional installation of packages

I'm currently evaluating both SetupFactory and InstallShield Express for my company.

Our product has a number of packages that are optional for installation, depending on the products loaded on a customer's device. How easy is it to set this up within Setup Factory, preferably without having to write a bespoke DLL or script to do so

It's super easy to create optional packages in Setup Factory 7.0. Check out chapter 6 in the users guide. You can get a package install going without a single line of code!
