    Grin Capture setup

    Hi all,

I have a question about functionallity before buying Setup Factory.

Can I capture a setup and then make a silent install package from that? (what i mean is this. I start Setup Factory, tells it I will now make a installation, I start the installation and answer all the questions the installation has for me and finish it. ) Can SF make a silent installation from this (to either a msi package or executible)

    /M

This feature is not available at the present. Setup Factory 7.0 has silent install support but there is no way to run it and get a file that can be used to configure an install on another machine.

You can script a install to run silently and do anything that it could do not silent, even have some kind of ini file that could be modified to answer questions, you would have to include the ini file with the installer. There are a few programs out there that monitor a system and then can report back changes that were made by an installer, but never used one, not sure I would recommend it.
