Do I remember 100 MB? My main drive for all my work today is 80 MB. Gasp! I feel so cheap...



My first computer was hot stuff because it had a memory upgrade from 16 KB to 48 KB which meant it was powerful enough to run the newest games at the time like Ultima and Castle Wolfenstein.

As a kid I used to go down to Westworld Computers in Edmonton and drool over their Apple graphics tablet, which weighed around 35 pounds and looked something like a huge paper cutter with a big metal pen tethered to one corner by a thick cable. By todays standards it would be worth $10. Back then it cost thousands, and was the hottest thing on two wheels.

So I think you're right Yossi. Although I give some weight to Ray Kurweil's theory of "The Singularity". I don't agree with all his conclusions but the greater truth of which he speaks is definitely true. Growth is not infinite by any means and humans are clearly reaching the threshold of limitations in many fields.

Yeah I understand. But today I find it exciting that we are in a time of podcasts and consumption of bandwidth for entertainment. It pushes the limits of todays technology and hopefully will bring about big changes in the world of technology.
