    How to...Simple Line Object??

This seems like it should be a "no-brainer" but I can't find a simple answer? I need to draw some simple line objects. Essentially, I'm trying to make an open-ended grid (no sides). I thought that I could trick it by creating a box and then telling it that I didn't want it to have any depth - but that didn't seem to work.

Does anybody have any suggestions or tricks for this? I know that I could create a graphic in Photoshop or Fireworks and then lay my text over that - but I'd prefer not to do it that way. I guess that I could also create underlined text with nothing but spaces...but that doesn't seem very accurate? It just seems like there would or should be a plain ol' line tool???

    Thanks in advance.

Use the Shape Object plugin. You should be able to use them to draw horizontal and vertical lines. Diagonal... I think not.

The problem would that you need to keep all of your grid as a group, less you misplace some lines.
Another factor is that with a shape, you cannot have semi-transparent objects. My suggestion would be to create two images (Horizontal and Vertical), but in any case you would ned to group your grid (unless you build it ALL in another program).
