Project settings > Build
Use external icon file:
Select this option if you want to use a custom icon to represent the CD-ROM that your AutoPlay application will be burned onto.

I got that part. But that will not make the autorun.exe "Application file" have the same icon... When I look over the cd the exe file keeps the "gold cd" icon... Now in window as it plays the new icon come up, but the exe has the old icon..
You know, I was wondering that same thing. If you assign an icon, it will appear in Windows Explorer for the icon and on the Title bar of the application it will appear as such as well, but in the folder it always appears as a gold CD-ROM

Resource Hacker v3.4.0
Sorry if this is not permitted.
Thanx for this tip, i checked that and it works fine and its easy to use.
But i think at first it have to work with AMS itself. So master69`s question needs an answer
Sneeze
np AGRO but be aware that ResHacker can do funky things to .exes and create bugs within them without warning. I've seen it happen.

copy that
Microangelo from impact software does a nice job of changing the icon for an .exe.
I've never had a problem with it corrupting the AMS .exe but that is not to say it couldn't happen....
MicroAngelo is probably a better tool for this purpose...

If you use Microangelo for this, does it allow you to change the icon for only that autoplay.exe file, or does it change all autoplay.exe files or all .exe files? I am just curious if it is a system wide setting, since all autoplay.exe files look the same does it change all of them.
Thanks

I've never used Microangelo to do this, didn't even know it was possible. I'm just saying it's a better tool because I know it's a dedicated icon studio, but that's just an assumption on my part. I have had troubles in the past with ResHacker corrupting files subtly...

Bah, if you're really brave, you just use a HEX editor and type in da funky numbaz.

No, I don't mean that seriously, although it is "possible" of course. Heck, you could even use DEBUG to do it from DOS in a real pinch.
But really, and I mean this, please don't take this seriously. (I'd hate to think someone actually tried to do it that way because of this post.)
No, really.
