Many of you have probably seen this, but if you were ever a five year old boy who looked up to his dad, this is something you've got to see and hear:

Subject matter aside, the tune is decent I think. His voice reminds me of Billy Bragg in spots. I like the Flash as well... Nice link. This is a great role model for all the indies out there...![]()
Yeah, the Flash looks excruciating. But, I'm kind of a Flash novice, so that doesn't count for much.
I have some younguns myself, so there's a special place in my heart for that naive innocence youth brings. I need that spiritual renewal every day, or maybe I've just gotten hooked on it... Anyway, I hope you all watch it through to the end - it's worth it to see a backhoe fly!
Yeah I watched it through, I like the part where he's written out "I must never make another animated video again, it is time consuming." how ever many times. I know how he feels. The more you do it, the quicker you get. The AMS Flash tour on our site here took me around a week or so, maybe a day or two more. Whereas the first one I did took almost a month. We've learned a lot here over the past few years. Anyhow you can bet your pretzel that this video took lots of time, but that's why it's good. There's no such thing as good "instant art". Without exception, all the greatest pieces of art and music I've ever seen took tons of planning. Sure many great songs were "written" in 2-3 minutes, but they were then developed for months, even years by the artists who performed them. When you hear Paul McCartney sing Yesterday, you don't hear the song that took them a mere 10 minutes to write, you are hearing the song he's spent the last 40 years perfecting... If you heard a finished recording of it just after the initial 10 minute writing session you probably wouldn't even recognize it.
Anyhow I think the very virtue of this piece is in the energy they invested. I love stuff like this, it's very close to ideal in the context it was intended as far as I'm concerned. The fact that it connected so deeply with you is testament to the quality of the energy which went into it. When music connects like that it's a great thing.![]()
Absolutley loved it.![]()

What a great tune.
I have two boys aged 2 and 8 so it really connected. Plus when I was younger I drove a JCB in the UK for a couple of years, so double connection.
Thanks for the link.![]()

I am so out of here
Yeah, he captured it well. It is funny what is important to kids. My son's favorite thing is that when I take him to Hockey practice/games I let him sit in the front seat of the van (Mom won't ever let him do that). We always go a bit early and stop off and get me a coffee and him a doughnut (ANY kind he wants). We solve all of the world's problems (in his mind) between our house and the rink. I think that this is the only reason he keeps playing hockey.![]()
