Looks a good one, Agro.
Thanks for the link.
......update....
I just downloaded it to give it a try and look what I found in the Readme file:
"...Distribution and Logo requirements
In order to distribute any project that uses INM V12 Database, you
must purchase a license from Integration New Media, Inc.
..."
Now, THAT turns me off!
Let me get it straight...I would be buying a software program (around US$ 500, from the price of the Director version..) and in addition, every time I am using it, I would have to pay an additional fee?
I can see that from here: any picture edited with Photoshop...payment to Adobe..![]()

License-based distribution of software is all wrong. Users are made to feel under the thumb of the software company, and the reporting methods are totally cumbersome. I'd avoid programs with that model at all costs, no matter how nifty they are.

The FAQ is pretty confusing on the licensing. One section says:
But then, another section says:Question 11: Do I have to pay royalties or a per-project fee for using INM V12 Database?
No. Integration New Media’s one-time licensing fee enables you to use INM V12 Database royalty-free. Once you own a license for INM V12 Database, you can use it for as many projects as you wish.I'm ALWAYS having to modify structures and what-have-you. I suppose I could make dummy structures that could be modified and do an end-run around the licensing, but it seems kind of weird. I think I'll wait a bit on this.Question 16: I am working on a project involving V12 Database. However, I never need to create or modify database structures, nor do I write or modify V12 Database related scripts. Do I need a V12 Database license?
No. If you only need to view or modify the content (add/delete records) of a V12 Database file, no license is required. If your project requires you to create or modify a V12 Database file structure (e.g., adding/deleting tables), or if you need to write V12 Database-related scripts, then you must have an INM V12 Database license.

Hi all potential V12 Database users. I am the product manager and I noticed the thread about this new product, so I'm chiming in to clarify things...
You only need to purchase one license for INM V12 Database to distribute as many projects as you like.
Regarding our FAQ Question 16, about not needing to modify structures, etc., that was put in for developers who are working on a V12 project, but not themselves writing the V12 Database code. For instance, there may be three programmers working on a project. If two of them are writing V12 scripts they both need to have a license. If the third one is doing something else on the project, he doesn't need to have a separate license.
If you have any other questions about INM V12 Database, or ideas for improvement -- things you would like to see -- please give me a shout.

Sounds like "our" kind of company. A real person responding to our concerns. I just sent Gabrielle a note. Let's see what happens.Originally Posted by Gabrielle Krim

Thanks for clarifying the matter, Gabrielle.
It does aleviate my concerns about the program.
I"ll try it out.
Now about how crucial this forum is. I agree. And this prompts me to suggest adding a category in the forum that deals with actual production needs/questions/solutions etc... regarding screen design, image editing, visual (and audio) elements and more. In one expression: a source for multimedia resources and support.
