Wink Virtual Windows XP

Well, I hope my "creation" wont disapoint those of you who are eager to see it, but I've finished the Virtual Windows XP, and I've uploaded it to the net.

Anyways, not trying to spam or anything, but go to:
http://www.07studios.com/
Right on the front page there's a link to the download.
(I'm only linking to my site because there's important Download Instructions there).

Well... enjoy

Haha, and remember, it ONLY works for 1024 x 768 resolution! Set your res to that if it's not, at least just for this app.
Don't download it if you're not gonna be able to view it... I'd hate for yah to waste all my precious, valuable bandwidth, lol

mmmmmmmmmmm.... bandwidth... *drool*

None of the components actually work over here, are they just screencaps? Also I got an access violation and it crashed... Other than that it looks very good.

Came up under 800X600 res, clicked on the Virtual Windows XP and it went to download, but i stopped it. 1 Note being a Micro$oft System Admin, are you sure you can use the "Windows XP" part of that? They are pretty sticky about things. Not trying to rock you boat, because i think it's a pretty good site, but I've seen quite a few sites get busted for using bits, pieces and whole parts of their product names. Just my 2 cents

Re: Virtual Windows XP

Hmmmmm, yah, the whole thing is just kinda like screenshots... otherwise it would have took like 40 hours per app, if I wanted everything to work
(keeping in mind there was about 50 apps there - including help filese, search, etc)

From that, the whole app I made probably wouldn't even fit on a CD, lol

Access violaton?? weird... which page?

Sorry if I disapointed yah.. I just created it to give people a general idea of what it looks like, and I think everyone will get the idea of how it looks on XP...
But whatever, s'all good
It's not like it's my baby, I really don't care if someone would say it looks like monkey dung
Love yah

As for you Pagedown... meh lol
I'll wait til they send a SWAt team to raid my house, hehe
I'm no corporation here... so I think I'll stay under the shadows... and sheesh these dumb corporations.. if anything my "creation" would help sell the product... and I just said.. "IF ANYTHING" (not saying my Virtual XP is great and holy!)

And ****, if it'll make them happy I'll call it Micro$hit Winblows X-Pee

Oh, and the download will come up if you're running a different resolution... I never set it up in anyway to block other res users from downloading it, probably becuase it's simple to change your resolution, and maybe the operson wants to do it after they download it.
And it's not like the app will run directly from when you click it... well, I guess unless you asked it to, but still, the file is archived, so it would just extract the files... all in all, all you did was save me an itty bitta bandwidth

I downloaded but I get an error when I try to run the .exe saying that the Runtime Expired. It appears it was created with the evaluation version that has now expired.

It appears [judging by the replies] as tho Virtual Windows XP has as many bugs as the real thing!

LOL!!

It could not have expired! (It wasn't created with the demo.. created with full version)

Anyways... sheesh, I think I'd have to agree with Derek at this point lol
Hmmmm, I'm not getting ANY troubles with it... I've even downloaded the uploaded file and tried that, works fine...

Re: Virtual Windows XP

I have to stand up for Windows XP, it may have bugs just like all software does, but my XP box has never crashed. Not once. I once had apache running on it for several months without a single second of downtime. I can't ignore that...

On the other hand my 98SE box crashes a few dozen times per week.

Hey why don't you create some vintage skins, they only take a fraction of the time of these and people will flock to download them. Try the Apple ][+ for example, I'd like to see that one again... Or a Vic...

Corey,

I'm with you, i can't begin to tell you all the Admin nightmares i've gotten rid of with XP. 2K was a breath or fresh air, and then came XP... I love It... Now if Micro$oft can make some commercials to answer those being played hyping the Apple Mac......
