Old AMS4 Knowledge Base File / XML

Anybody still have that original PDF Knowledge Base article on AMS4? I think it came out with the beta version(s). I'm still having trouble getting the XML functions through my thick head and I believe there was some info on it in the PDF file. Help in AMS4 (as is typical of ALL Help files) barely covers the areas I most need Help on. Help!

I've made the point about a PDF file in the past, it got a muted response. I didn't realise that an old one was in existance.

This app is now so powerful ( feature rich ?) that it almost deserves a book - but a PDF file would do..

Agreed, John-Oh! But I'm sure there was a PDF file because I found where I had alluded to it in a previous post when I was searching the forum for references to XML. I'm thinking that the discussion(s) about XML (which is all I really want here) were in the Beta Forum and of course, we can no longer get there from here. I'll never master all of the AMS4 functions, but will settle for a brief lesson in how to do the XML cut and paste functions in AMS4. Hint. Hint.

There are no XML functions available in AMS. There is no pdf as far as I know. What exactly are you referring to?

    Corey -

I must have been replying while you were replying, so we missed each other. What I need help on is the action cut and paste functions expressed as XML. Sorry if I expressed my request badly.

OK. I'm probably not the one to answer that, I mean over here you just select what you want and cut and paste as normal... I'm not aware of any extended functionality in this regard.

    John-Oh -

I found that reference I alluded to in previous posts and it was called the "AMS4.0 COM Automation Reference." I had printed it out and found a copy squirreled away on my bookshelf at work. Don't have it in soft-copy though, I looked all through my hard drive.

Still looking for more info on how to work with AMS 4x functions in XML format. I see where/how to import/export actions as XML but still am a mere babe in the woods.

Looking through this COM Automation Reference, it's got a lot of really good stuff in it. Maybe our buds at IR could see their way clear to offer it up for download again.

    Hi,

The COM reference is available as HTML help in version 4.0.0.2, it is called: AMS40COM.chm and can be found in the main AutoPlay directory.

If you would like to Import/Export actions:
CTRL + S exports selected actions
CTRL + O imports actions from an XML file.
This must be done on an action list.

Note: The functions are also available under the advanced button on the action list.

You can also copy and past actions from AutoPlay into a Text editor like Notepad.
